Idealism is perhaps the oldest systematic philosophy in the western culture, dating back at least to Plato in ancient Greece. Philosophies and philosophers existed before Plato but Plato developed one of the most historical influential philosophies of education.
From ancient times until the modern era, idealism has been a dominant philosophical influence, and even though that influence has waned on times, it still a major philosophy and stands as a alternative to our contemporary materialist culture.
Idealist believe that ideas are the only true reality, it is not that all idealists reject matter ( the matter world); rather they hold that the material world is characterized by change, instability, and uncertainty, whereas some ideas are enduring; thus idealism might be more correct descriptive term for this philosophy.
No two philosophers can agree on every points even though they both believe in idealism. Idealistic philosophy has three areas:
Platonic idealism which dates back to Greek philosopher Plato.
Religious idealism which dates back to the the founder of the Roman Catholic Church "Augustine".
Modern idealism which started from the fifteenth century dating back to the philosophers Descartes,, who used to doubt everything around him, Kant the famous German philosopher and professor, and Berkeley who was an idealism but he believed in senses sometimes.

I'm against idealists , realists convince me more because we can trust matter not only minds we should do experiments and find out new knowledge not only what others think and send it for us
